was asked by Russian Composer Sergey Akhunov if it had a formal score ? I replied by way of a description of its creation and briefly what manner of work it is.
'It was never intended that it should be performed, the recording then is both the Work itself and a [the] documentary recording of it. It has plots and plans - it has evolutionary paths and several Gb of 'preparatory sketches' - not the least of which are the original two cello lines - There isn't a single resultant clear score because the fragmentation to too great - it is intended that, as in an Artwork ,what you hold in your hand - the recording - is the Work. It is conceived that it should be listened to as a work of music - for 2 Cellos with soft but firm percussion on the sound bodies and on the strings with finger combinations and with both sides of the bow. Combinations of parts were treated with various species of Delays, synchronising with the rhythms'.
